Hello all,
I picked up my lude in 2007 after flipping through the local cars by dealers paper. After a quick test drive I cut a check for 3800 and drove my new baby home. Admittedly, I was all into the Fast and the Furious at the time;

Features on it at the time were;
-Wings West Big Mouth front
-Spyder side skirts
-Wings West rear
-AEM SRI
-unknown brand header (ebay special?)
-unknown brand exhaust with N1 style muffler 2.5" stainless piping
-Venom Performance module
-Non-working alarm system
-Neons  Roll Eyes
-18" HPR Lightning wheels
After about 2 months of ownership I suffered a timing belt snapping, so I swapped in an F22B ordered from Tiger Japanese and decided to rebuild the H23.

Aftermath of the timing belt failure;

Two bent valves Sad

Let the rebuild begin!
In go ARP head and main studs after the block was hot tanked:

Along with Mahle Gold Series High-Compression Pistons Grin
 In goes the Moroso oil pan and pick up

I also cleaned up the carbon in the combustion chamber, not bad for a dremel:
Before

After

In 2009 I parked the lude in the top of the driveway at my parents house, because I was told it wouldn't pass inspection with the JDM engine in it (in hindsight I now know it doesn't matter, I would have passed). So I then purchased a white 94 si as a daily while I continued the build on the black 94 si. Then life kinda happened and the build was put on hold until recently since I'm finally more financially stable. Anyway, here are some pics of my all original frost white 94 si daily;

UPDATE

Fixed exhaust leak that sprang up after respraying header with high-temp sealant. Turns out I didn't tighten the bolts enough Roll Eyes. Also, installed a block off plate for the fast idle thermo valve and looped the coolant lines, also fixed my idle issue. Next up is body work......joy.

Well if everything goes as planned I should be able to make it, if not, I have the white lude and then there is always next year. Ok so, front bumper is primered,and ready for final sanding and bondo before paint, patch panels need to be welded into rear quarters, and general body work needs tobe done around the whole car.

Yep that's the general plan. Going to try and knock out the bodywork next weekend since I have off. Contemplating feathering granada black pearl in or respraying the entire car the final color it well be when the build is complete. Then I have to purchase fresh rubber, get it registered, inssured, and inspected. Hoping I can pull it off, but funds and time is not on my side.

UPDATE

Well, this weekend didn't go as planned, prep on the front bumper and side skirt are complete and ready for final paint.

Turns out there was a ton of bondo on the rear quarters so more work is needed, I only got one side done.

On the plus side I installed the JDM headlights I picked up;
Before

After

I should have more progress after the 9th, I have to look into renting a welder so I can repair the rear quarters correctly.
